I spy CBCA Book Week 2021

CBCA Children’s Book Week is the place to be and a state of mind when you love to read, write and breathe children’s picture books!

I have always firmly taken it by the hand as a picture book lover, mum costume maker and story-time ambassador. But Whoa Nelly! Thus years it’s pranced along the track towards me in such a fabulous way now I am a  debut picture author.

CBCA Book Week is held in Term 3 between August 21 – 27 and this year’s top theme is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.

COVID lockdowns pending, I’m sitting in the storytime chair this year at several schools, pre-schools, libraries and bookstores … and of course … on Zoom and in Google Classrooms. I’m sharing age-appropriate activities, reading sessions and author talks.

Can I tell you HOW excited I am? I am squeak-grinning! And I’m giving careful thought to what I can offer to match readers and hosts’ needs for storytimes and author talks.

So far I’m booked to appear at:

17 August all-day – Assembly and individual classes at Penbank / Woodleigh College

23 August all morning – Foundation years / Grade 3 – 6 at Red Hill Consolidated School

25 August all morning – Foundation years / Grade 3 – 6 at Tootgarook Primary School

27 August 11 am – 12 midday Storytime at Farrell’s Bookstore

27 August 4 – 5pm Storytime at Cranbourne Library

and in the following weeks I’ll be at the bush ‘n’ beach kinder program with Sorrento Pre-School, online chatting to Thomas Acres Public School, and more to announce.

I cannot wait to sling my CBCA lanyard around my neck and stride into author talks and story times in August.

Drop me a line if you need an author talk or story time reader

I have packages to suit all ages and stages, and fun loving curriculum -linked  activities to support learning themes!

If I am already heading your way here are some helpful Teacher’s Notes to help your class prepare.

See you in the story chair,

Cheers,

Andrea
