Sandy feet & saltwater grins for story time fun

The best ever story time session was held this week under the shade of a jetty, with my feet in the sand as the weather teased us across Port Phillip Bay.

Thanks, Natured Kids for letting me join your lovely little beachlings and their saltwater families to share JETTY JUMPING’s messages of:
  • caring for our oceans
  • marine creatures who live in and around jetties
  • fun and safe things to do at the beach (not all jetties are Ok to jump off – and always check signs)
  • plus how to feel a teensy bit braver when things feel a little scary and new.

Natured Kids gives children a childhood full of direct outdoor experiences and opportunities for nature play in so many different environments, with educators who stimulate deep learning.
It was truly an honour to be a part of environmentally engaged adventures.
Thanks to Natured Kids for these images.
This was also the very first time I’ve mobbed by munchkins – it was one sandy mosh-pit out there 🙂

I’ve had such lovely feedback form the families about the conversation starters around our precious shorelines and how themes of bravery speak to their young readers – we had lovely chats, book signings and sandy play!
