In the Rockpool announced as Notable for 2024 CBCA Book of the Year

In the Rockpool has been awarded the 2024 Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year – Early Child Notable honour. We knew that Australian families and educators were enjoying the book, and the Notable is the icing on the cake.  The CBCA Notables are a long-listing for the Book of the year, so here’s to another shiny sticker on our books!

 

Hannah Sommerville and I share the Notable news with so many wonderful authors and illustrators, and Hannah has TWO books in this years Notables. She’s a super star!

 

I’m incredibly humbled to share a Notable award again with fabulous Hannah, and the wonderful team at Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing for In the Rockpool.

 

It’s an incredible honor to be on this list amongst so many talented storytellers. We had a fabulous night watching the announcement live with the CBCA Vic members (and several other Notables Caz Goodwin, Jess Rackyleft, Kaye Baillie, Michelle Conn, and Prue Pittock present to share the joy.)  Congratulations to all who created books last year, and on the stories you share with Australian children.
