Not every family has access to books. Not every home can afford to purchase new stories for young readers. That’s why Books In Homes is such a valued foundation for Australia, and I am delighted to be a supporting them.

Books in Homes® is a charitable foundation that provides books of choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances, ensuring crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement. Their program aims to overcome the inequality of educational opportunities in communities where access to books for families is limited or non-existent and resources are often scarce.

Since 2001, Books in Homes® has distributed over 3 million new books to over 10, 000 children through schools and communities around Australia. The organisation contributes to helping overcome generational poverty by enhancing the chances of success in early education thereby opening up options, choices and potential in later life.

As a Books in Homes Role Model I help the organisation get books in kids hands though special Book Giving Assemblies in schools and online.

I am thrilled to join Books in Homes to help all childrens have equitable access to books to feed their minds and imaginations and open them up to opportunities.

Together we are empowering kids, literally.
