Author & Illustrator meet-up (finally)

The most talented Hannah Sommerville and I are finally in the one place,  together.

Between us we’ve wrangled:

two states across Australia

two years of lockdowns

life and all the other flotsam and jetsam

But this weekend my friends, this weekend we were together! And it was joyful!

We might have been awarded our Children’s Book Council of Australia medal last year, but this is the first time we shared our book bling moment in each other’s company.

It was fun to share a moment and a few giggles, when a family, not knowing we were there, walked up to the book display, remarking “Ooh Jetty Jumping”.

As we’ve got a new book out in a few months, I made Hannah and I little book totems for each book. A shell bravery bracelet (just like Milla’s) for Jetty Jumping, and a skateboard deck for Sunday Skating.

There are more book totems to come with Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing!
