Thrilled to bits to share some very special award news. Castle Crashing has received a shiny sticker as a 2026 Children’s Book Council of Australia Notable Book of the Year – Early Childhood.
The CBCA Notables are a long-listing for the Book of the Year for young Australian readers. This is the 4th time Hannah Sommerville & I have received a Notable Award for Early Childhood Picture Books, and the thrill never gets old! This year we are amongst such stellar company.

Australian storytellers have produced some outstanding picture books to engage readers in the past year, and we’re just thrilled to be amongst it all.
