Cover reveal: Audrey Skips

Melbourne’s beloved Skipping Girl turns 90 in 2026, and she deserves a picture book party to celebrate.

AUDREY SKIPS is a reimagined trubute to a treasured icon of Melbourne, the Skipping Girl, otherwise known as Little Audrey.

Bright and shiny Audrey loves to skip a jump rope rhyme, right off her rooftop and through the sleeping streets of a city. Skittering across the skyline and peering in windows, Audrey spies folks struggling with hard times as her own light dims. With a little help from city friends, Audrey’s light and her hopeful spirit shine again, brighter than ever.

Illustrator Lisa Coutts and I have collaborated with MidnightSun Publishing to create a reimagined tale of her skip-step-skip story across Melbourne’s rooftops and into our hearts.

This is a story of community in cities, kindness and compassion, legacy and conservation, … and encourages us all to look up and see our landmarks and history.

Out February 1st. Pre-order through all Australian bookstores or via this link.
