Victoria’s inaugural Public Libraries ambassador reporting for duty!
It’s an absolute honour to share and celebrate the vital value of libraries for our state.
On May 19th, 2025, the Minister for Local Government, Hon Nick Staikos MP, officially announced me as the new Ambassador for Victoria’s Public Libraries.
With 293 public libraries across Victoria, these community spaces are more than just bookshelves — they’re hubs of creativity, learning and belonging. Our Public Libraries ensure that everyone — regardless of income — can access books, movies, music, and knowledge at no cost!
Week 1 on the job
It was a busy Week 1 in my new ambassador role for Victorian libraries. I visited 3 libraries Glen Eira City Council – Libraries, City of Greater Dandenong Libraries and Geelong Regional Libraries for the National Simultaneous Story Time event with Public Libraries Victoria, chatted to ABC Statewide and met so many wonderful library folks and families.
It’s a wonderful thing to know how much we all value libraries and want share that story out with others on behalf of all Victorians and the Public Libraries Victoria team.
Let’s continue to make libraries a place for all enjoy!
