Podcasts are a super way to learn about authors’ writing style, motivations, and blockages, and to take inspiration for your own writing life as well.  They’re also a great way to share the news when there’s a new book out and learn what to watch out for in the bookstores too.

I have loved chatting to Podcasts hosts in recent momths about my own writing process, my collaboration with illustrator Hannah Sommerville and our next picture book

  • Zanni Louise of The Sunshine House podcast and I chatted about inspiring settings and the conversations that lead to story ideas.
  • Ken Williams of Reading With a Chance of Tacos podcast and I talked about writers clock, busting through the other side, and what the feared ‘come back’ book feels like for the Bonus Episodes series
  • Ky Gervay of Totally Lit podcast and I talked about our mutual love of skating, as well as the inspiration behind Sunday Skating, the joy of working with talented illustrator Hannah Sommerville, writing festival school programs, the value of community connections and local writers’ clubs, and who I’d invite to tea if I was in charge of the dinner party guest list

Three very different and all delightful podcasts exploring different writing elements and reflections. Tune in and have a listen.
