Respected peninsula yoga consultant Jan Winslade is offering a blissful beach yoga program every Saturday and Sunday morning throughout Summer at Mt Martha.
Back for its 5th year, the Yoga on the Beach program welcomes locals and holiday makers to connect with themselves and the environment, and was last year noted as a unique Peninsula wellbeing experience.
At $15pp per session, it’s also one of the most affordable natural highs you will experience to start your day.
Hosted on the sand beside the Mt Martha LifeSaving Club, the 1 hour outdoor beach yoga class begins at 9am every Saturday and Sunday with Jan focussing on helping attendees relax and recharge, as they gain more balance and energy to continue their day. Yoga on the Beach follows the Satyananda disciple and will focus on meditation, poses and breathing as well as the chance to spot the odd dolphin in the bay.
It’s such a wonderful way to start the day, enjoying the sounds of the sea and the warmth of the sun while practicing yoga. We are incredibly lucky to enjoy such a beautiful Port Phillip Bay, and starting our day being more mindfully present while getting sand between our toes is a perfect way to release your pressure points.
Jan is enthusiastic in her approach to yoga and its great many benefits including increasing focus, balance, strength and flexibility – both physically and mentally.
Regular yoga devotees, those with injuries and newcomers to yoga and meditation are encouraged to join, and Jan stresses that while many will be very familiar with the poses, no experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome. Experienced students are shown how to find more challenging version of poses.
Jan also offers the program at no cost to children under 12, making it easier for parents with kids in tow and for curious teens interested in learning more about the activity.
A well respected yoga consultant, Jan delivers programs through Eliza Business School, Family Life Services, Hummingbird Eco Retreat and Frankston Shire and offers a unique program to high schools helping teenagers with breathing and stress techniques in the lead up to exams.
With a well established track record leading yoga sessions at corporate and private events, Jan has over 15 years experience helping people find health and happiness through yoga.
Yoga on the Beach takes place beside Mt Martha Life Saving Club, The Esplanade, Mt Martha on Saturday & Sundays, 9am from Dec 21 2013 to March 30th, 2014.
